This painting is the first from the new 'Tropic of Cancer' series. Broadly, the colours are warm-to-hot that work in the tropical latitudes. The premise is a 3 x 3 array of 2-colour couplets of alternating vertical and horizontal bands. These arrangements seek to convey the warming of the global where soon the regions of the equatorial tropics will become uninhabitable and mass human and fauna migrations will be the consequence. Broadly my chosen abstract motifs seek to convey through aesthetics the human need to impose order on a universe determined by chaos and entropy.
