'Chant of the American Knucklehead'

Materials: Acrylic paint on Jesmonite

Dimensions: 90 x 90 x 5 cm (~ 36”h x 36”w x 2”d )

An ongoing series, using a pictorial language to express a narrative concept via 9-letter words and phrases.
The compositions are determined within the parameters of a grid, ready-made picto-linguistic motifs, and a reductive De Stijl palette.
Combining graphic minimalism with 9-letter words communicates ideas in their most reductive, abstract form.
While using the same picto-linguistic motif elements, here they are employed in a more poetic form to expose a nationalist jingoism.
